‘Inception’ Dominates Visual Effects Society Awards

In a development that probably surprises no one, Inception cleaned up at the recent 2010 Visual Effects Society Awards, winning the four major categories for which it was eligible:

Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Motion Picture

Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Motion Picture (Paris Dreamscape)

Outstanding Models and Miniatures in a Feature Motion Picture (Hospital Fortress)

Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture



On the television front, HBO’s spectacular The Pacific also cleaned up, coming away with three major awards:

Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Miniseries, Movie, or Special

Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Broadcast Program (Battle of Iwo Jima)

Outstanding Compositing in a Broadcast Program or Commercial (Peleliu landing)
